The PGSC has four committees which are open to any and all interested grad students. No experience/election/commitment required!
USE THIS FORM TO JOIN A COMMITTEE MAILING LIST
Signing up for a committee is non-committal, and just means that you are interested in helping brainstorm, plan, or run events when you have the time. You will be placed on the appropriate mailing list so that the committee chairs can start working together with committee members.
+Social activities committee: Organize events that promote social cohesion among graduate students such as picnics, cookie time, soccer games, etc.
+Peer mentoring committee: Help organize & adjust the new peer mentoring program. Plan events for mentors/mentees.
+Recruit & welcome committee: Organize events that help recruit students (i.e. prospective student visit weekends) or help new students get comfortable in our department (orientation events, info panels, etc.)
+Professional development committee: Assemble resources and organize events that help students prepare for careers outside of graduate school such as bringing APS speakers, connecting students to alumni, career panels, fellowship writing workshops, etc.
